Stress and Cognition
Stress has become a term that is so overused that it has lost some of it’s impact. As a culture we have become desensitized to what the word stress really indicates which is disappointing because stress has such a huge impact on our health. When we are ‘stressed’, it is a crisis for our body and we begin to sacrifice long term processes for short term survival. For this module, we are focusing on emotional stress as most of the rest of this course addresses balancing physical and nutritional stresses.
