Social Connections and Cognition
At our very essence, human beings are social creatures that are hard-wired for connection with other human beings. From prehistoric times until now, we have understood at a very basic level that we need other people to survive, and certainly we need other people to thrive. Furthermore, research has shown a very strong relationship between social connectivity and cognitive health.
Taken together, research supports what we intuitively know, feeling connected to other people improves our health outcomes.
